Biography

Zaim Ali was born in 1949 in Erbil. He completed his primary, secondary and preparatory education in Erbil. In 1970, he was admitted to the Military College in Baghdad on the list of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and in 1972, he obtained a bachelor's degree in military sciences with the rank of second lieutenant and in 2004, he received the rank of First Lieutenant. In 2005, he became a military advisor to the Jalal Talabani (1933 - 2017) of the President of the Republic of Iraq, served as Minister of Peshmerga Affairs in the third cabinet in 1996 and the fourth in 1999.
