Biography
Commander Lt. Gen. Omar Mirxan Khazali was born in 1939 in the village of Jajok in the Mergasor district into a revolutionary family. As a child, he emigrated to Eastern Kurdistan in Iran with his relatives in 1945. His family participated in the defense of the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad. His two brothers, Khazali Mirxan Khazali and Martyr Hiso Mirxan Khazali, went to the former Soviet Union with the late Barzani in 1975 after the defeat of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). He was one of the commanders who participated in the Xwakurkê Saga and participated in the uprising. After the 1991 uprising, he was promoted to battalion commander and then became the battalion commander of the President's School in Pirmam. He participated in the 12th Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1999 and the 13th Congress in 2010 and was honored by the President at the 13th Congress. Masoud Barzani He was awarded the Barzani Medal of Honor.
In 2014, he participated in the fight against ISIS terrorists on the Giwer-Makhmur front and captured Baqirta, Ali Awa, Cedida, Dugirkan and Sultan Abdullah. At some point, his special forces were transferred to the Peshmerga Ministry's Joint Support Forces.
Omar Mirxan Jajoki was wounded 5 times during his Peshmerga service, and several family members, such as his cousin Ali Taha Jajoki in 1963, his nephew Mirxan Haji Mirxan and his nephew Salih Haji Mirxan, and his brother-in-law Kekşar Xidiri Khurza in 1983, and his two nephews, Eli Hiso Mirxan in 1994 and Xelil Xezali Mirxan in 1995, were martyred.
