Sociologist and politician, Hoshyar Mahmud Muhammad Faris, known as Hoshyar Zebari. He was elected as a member of the Central Committee in the ninth congress in 1979, and as a member of the Central Committee and then the Political School in the tenth congress in 1989, the eleventh congress in 1993, and the twelfth congress in 1999, and as a member of the Leadership Council and then the Political School of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the thirteenth congress in 2010. In 1992, he was the candidate of the Kurdistan Democratic Party for the election of the first National Council, and served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq in the cabinets of Dr. Ibrahim Jafari (2005) and Nouri al-Maliki (2006), and later as the Minister of Finance of Iraq in the cabinet of Adil Abdul-Mahdi.
Biography
Hoshyar Zebari received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Jordan in 1976. He received his master's degree in sociology and development from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom in 1979. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, English, and Persian.

In the same year, he carried out a campaign to draw the attention of Western countries to the use of chemical weapons against the Kurds in Southern Kurdistan by Iraq.
He was the Head of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Europe from 1990 to 2003. In 1992, he participated in the Iraqi National Congress in Vienna and in the same year he became a Member of the Executive Committee of the Iraqi National Congress (Salahaddin Congress) and became a Member of the General Committee and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Iraqi National Congress (Vienna Congress). In 1999, he was elected as a Member of the Presidency of the Iraqi National Congress (London Conference).
In January 2005, he was elected as a member of the National Council of the Iraqi Movement on the Kurdistan Coalition list and on April 28, 2005, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq in the cabinet of Ibrahim al-Jaafari and on April 22, 2006, he was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq in the first cabinet of Nouri al-Maliki. In 2014, he became the Minister of Finance of Iraq in the cabinet of Haider al-Abadi.
In 2010, at the thirteenth congress of the KDP, by the President Masoud Barzani He has received the Barzani Immortal Medal.
