Ehmed Ibrahim Mustafa, known as Ehmed Xelani, was born in 1950 in the village of Xelane, Haji Omaran district, Choman district, Erbil province. In 1975, after the defeat of the September Revolution, he emigrated to Iran and went to Nexeda with Kerim Sincari, Shekib Akrey and Azad Berwari, but he did not stay there long and returned to the village of Xelane. In 1976, he returned to Southern Kurdistan and settled in the village of Xelane. At the end of 1976, he emigrated to Iran again. In 1991, after the uprising and uprising of the Kurdistan people, he returned to Southern Kurdistan with his family and settled in the city of Soran.
In 1967, he contacted the Peshmerga forces of the September Revolution and became a Peshmerga. He was also a guard at the Voice of Kurdistan (Radio) which was then headed by Salih Yusifi. In 1970, he went to the Five-District Police Station in Baghdad with Salih Yusifi, after which Hashim Akreyi It is said that the head of the KDP's Fifth Division in Baghdad, Ehmed Ibrahim Xelani, along with Yedulla Feyli, Mihemed Emin Beg, Nariman Habib, and other peshmerga, returned to Navpirdan in the Balekayeti area and from there was transferred to the guards section of the Xelan barracks, where Khalid Ajgeyi was placed in charge.
In 1972, he was transferred from the Xelan prison to the guards section of the Political School. Muhammad Amin Reshke was in charge of him at that time. In 1976, after returning from Iran, he was arrested by the Ba'ath regime and imprisoned for three months in the prisons of Rawandiz, Hewler and Baghdad, and then he was released and returned to his village.
In 1976, after the start May Revolution, Ahmed Xelani communicates with the ranks of the Peshmerga forces May Revolution He became a Peshmerga in Kotreru in the Qaladiz district under Ali Hesen Agha Sherwet. He then returned to the Balekayeti region and became a member of the Balek District Committee. In 1979, he participated in the ninth congress of the KDP and after the congress, he became the Secretary of the Balek District Committee and held that position until 1991.
In 1991, before the start of the uprising and the uprising of the people of Kurdistan, he himself returned as a Peshmerga and participated in the uprising of Diyana. After the uprising, he was re-elected as the Chairman of the Balek District Council. Later, he received the rank of commander in the formation of the Kurdistan Army and is currently a member of the 43rd First Command of the Helgurd Command.
Ahmed Khalani participated in several battles, such as the Battle of Warteh and Mount Derbi. In 1980, he was wounded in a battle against the Iraqi army in Haji Omaran. Three of his brothers and a son named Osman Ibrahim were martyred on April 13, 1984, Rahim Ibrahim on May 24, 1988, Mewlud Ibrahim on July 1, 1994, and Tahir Ahmed on January 1, 1995. Also, a nephew named Qadir Muhammad Mustafa was shot dead in Baghdad on January 28, 1988, and another nephew named Muhammad Ali Ibrahim was martyred during the liberation of Erbil in 1991. On August 16, 1996, he was awarded the Barzani Medal by President Barzani for his services to the Kurds, Kurdistan, and the Barzani method.
