Biography

Sirwan Barzani was born in Erbil in 1970 and comes from a family of Barzanesi sheikhs. He graduated from Zakho Military College in 1998. In 2015, he received an honorary doctorate in the field of national security from the Cambridge Academy of Science and Technology in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Persian and English.
