Politician Omer Osman Omer Hemed, known as (Omer Mêrgesori), joined the ranks of the Peshmerga forces of Kurdistan in 1964. He was wounded several times in the Peshmerga. He was a Peshmerga in both the September and May revolutions. He is a recipient of the Barzani Medal.
Biography
Omar Osman was born in Erbil in 1948. He completed his preparatory school in Iran in 1977 and established himself as a teacher in the city of Qazvin in Iran in 1978.

On April 11, 1991, he participated in the Battle of Korê against the armored units of the Iraqi army. In 1993, he became the first head of the Reds' Tenth Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. On January 20, 1999, he took the legal oath before the National Council of Kurdistan and became the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs (fourth cabinet), and on November 1 of the same year, he became the head of the Acre's Ninth Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In the years (2004-2005), he became the head of the Reds' Tenth Committee for the third time. On March 8, 2005, he became the head of the Peshmerga organization school of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
In 2007, he was appointed as the field commander of Soran. On Thursday, January 16, 2010, he was elected by 1,500 congress delegates with 547 votes in the first place of the graduating class and a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the thirteenth congress. In 2010, as a tribute to the participants of the September Revolution, the May Revolution and the uprising in Southern Kurdistan, the Barzani Medal of the Immortal was awarded by the President.
