Biography
Omar Mustafa was born in 1923 in the Qelat neighborhood of Koya, Erbil province. He completed his primary and secondary education in Koya and law school in Baghdad (1946-1951).

Omer Mustafa joined the ranks of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Baghdad in 1948. In 1951, at the party's second secret congress in Baghdad, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) by the votes of the congress delegates. In the same year, he was imprisoned for his political activities, but was released shortly after.
In 1953 and in Third Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party He was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) by the representatives of the Congress and later became a member of the Political School of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1956, he was appointed as a member of the Central Committee. In 1959, he was elected as a member of the Party's Central Committee by the representatives of the Fourth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
He was one of the 60 people who requested official permission to work for the Kurdistan Democratic Party for the stage of open work. In 1960, at the Fifth Congress, he became a member of the central committee by the vote of the congress delegates and later a member of the Political School of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK). In 1961, he was a representative of the KDP Political School to President Mustafa Barzani to inform him of the Iraqi government's attack on Kurdistan and to convey the Political School's position on this issue.
In 1962, he participated in the Ewdalan general meeting of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and in the same year participated in the Battle of Qishla Rayat. In 1963, he was appointed by the revolutionary leadership to a high position in the Iraqi government. In 1963, he participated in the General Assembly of the Koy and was later appointed as a member of the KDP's negotiating delegation with the Iraqi government, was one of the organizers of the Mawet meeting that took place in April 1964, joined the Jalal Talabani-Ibrahim Ahmed group in 1964 and was expelled from the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) by a majority vote of the congress delegates at the sixth congress, passed away on December 29, 1992 in Sulaymaniyah and was buried in Koy. He was fluent in Arabic and English.
