He went to the Nehêlî area with the Mulazim Ali detachment and stayed there until 1979. In the same year, he returned to the Zewe camp in East Kurdistan to participate in the ninth congress of the KDP, which was held in the village of Derbend in the Mergewer area of ​​​​East Kurdistan. After the end of the congress, he was transferred to the KDP Presidential School and was sent to the Amêdî district, where Muhammad Hussein Abdulaziz Ahmed was in charge.

In 1988, during the extensive Anfal and chemical warfare operations in the Behdinan district, two of Muhammad Zaki's brothers, Ali Hassan Cadir and Rashid Hassan Cadir, and his nephew, Abdulrahman Ali Hassan, were killed in the Anfal campaign. However, the latter managed to reach Bahirk in Erbil province through the mountains and lived there illegally. In 1991, he participated in the uprising and uprising of the people of Southern Kurdistan and was seriously injured. After recovering, he reconnected with the Peshmerga forces. In 1993, he was transferred to the second special forces and was retired with the rank of Muqaddam due to his injuries.

Muhammad Zeki has participated in dozens of battles and epics. Some of them are the epics of Dereluk, Xwakurk and Kani Masi in the Behdinan area of ​​​​Duhok province. He was wounded three times in the life of the Peshmerga. In 2010, at the thirteenth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he was awarded the title of President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. Masoud Barzani has received the Berzanî medal.
