Intellectual and politician Mahmoud Muhammad Mahmoud Said joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Students' Union in 1969. He joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1973. He was elected as a member of the central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - United in the eleventh congresses in 1993 and twelfth in 1999. Biography
Mahmud Muhammad was born in 1956 in the city of Raniye, and completed his primary education in the town of Qaladiz in 1968. In 1975, after the defeat of the September Revolution (1961-1975), he emigrated to Iran with his family. In 1992, he became the Central Governor of the city of Erbil, and in 2001, he became the Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government in the fourth cabinet. He is fluent in both Kurdish and Persian.

In 1994, he became the head of the Central School of Professional and Public Organizations, and in 2000, he was appointed head of the third district of Kirkuk, in the same year, head of the fourth district of Sulaymaniyah, and in 2004, head of the second district of Erbil. The same year, he was injured in a terrorist attack in the city of Erbil.
In 2009, he was a candidate for the Kurdistan National Council on the Kurdistan Nationalist List and was elected as a member of the council in the election, but he did not take office.
In 2018, due to his work and resistance during the September Revolution, May Revolution and the stage of the uprising in Southern Kurdistan and the period of sovereignty, by the President Masoud Barzani He has received the Barzani Immortal Medal.
