Edith Maubec, known as (Madame Kochera), was born in 1940 in Paris, the capital of France. She holds a degree in economics from the Panthéon University in Paris. She is the wife of French Orientalist Chris Kochera.
In 1969, she started working as a journalist and photographer. With her husband, Chris Kutschera, she founded the Free Lance Journalism Agency in Paris, France. She is an expert on the Middle East and Kurdistan and has published a number of articles on Kurdistan in French and international newspapers and magazines since 1971. Edith Maubec Kutschera (Kutschera) has participated in writing research alongside her husband, Chris Kutschera. She has visited Kurdistan several times and has a rich collection of photographs and archives on the Kurdish and Kurdistan issues. Chris Kutschera has benefited greatly from the archives and photographs from her husband for his books. Ms. Kutschera has become a skilled reporter and is one of the reporters who, with her camera, has been able to show the destruction of the city of Qaladizi and the crimes of the Iraqi government and Saddam Hussein to the world public and the people.
Edith Maubec attended the thirteenth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party as a guest from 11-18 January 2010. For her services to Kurds and Kurdistan, she was awarded the title of President of the Kurdistan Region. Masoud Barzani He has received the Barzani Medal.
