Politician Edhem Osman Sheikh Ahmed Sheikh Mohammed, known as Edhem Barzani, joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1976. In 2010, he was elected a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at its thirteenth congress, and in 2016, he became the head of the Sulaymaniyah provincial leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
Biography
Edhem Barzani was born in 1962 in the city of Erbil and is from the family of the Barzane sheikhs and the grandson of Sheikh Ahmed Barzani (1892 - 1969). He went to school in the village of Barzan in 1969 and completed the sixth grade of primary school in Baghdad in 1974 and is a graduate of the third grade of central education. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic and Persian.

In 2010, he was elected as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the thirteenth congress, and in 2016, he became the head of the Sulaymaniyah provincial leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
