Biography

Edhem Barzani was born in 1962 in the city of Erbil and is from the family of the Barzane sheikhs and the grandson of Sheikh Ahmed Barzani (1892 - 1969). He went to school in the village of Barzan in 1969 and completed the sixth grade of primary school in Baghdad in 1974 and is a graduate of the third grade of central education. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic and Persian.
