This book is essentially a doctoral thesis and consists of an introduction, four chapters, and an appendix.

The first part is about the Barzan tribes until 1915 and includes four topics, which discuss the origin of the name Barzan and its geographical and residential areas, the role of the Naqshbandi sheikhs in the unification of the Barzan tribes, the tribes of Sheikh Barzan and their social situation, and the defense of the Barzan tribes under the leadership of Sheikh Abdulsalam Barzani against the Ottoman authorities until 1915.

The second part of the book discusses the political and social situation of the Barzan tribes between 1915-1931 and consists of three topics: political developments and their impact on the Barzan tribes between 1915-1921, political developments in Iraq and their impact on the Barzan tribes between 1921-1927, and the positions of Britain and Iraq on the movement of the Barzan tribes between 1927-1931.

The third part is about the Barzan tribal movement led by Sheikh Ahmed Barzani between 1931-1935, and includes three topics: The reasons for the armed movement of the Barzan tribes and the position of the Kurdish tribes and the Iraqi government and the authorities of Britain and neighboring countries between 1931-1935, the position of the Iraqi press and the Iraqi parliament on the Barzan tribal movement led by Sheikh Ahmed Barzani between (1931-1935), and the return of administrative authority to the Barzan region between 1933-1935.

The fourth part of this book discusses the situation of the Barzan tribes between 1935-1958 and consists of three topics: the situation of the Barzan region and its tribes until 1943, the movement of Mullah Mustafa Barzani and the role of the Barzan Tribes between 1943-1945, and the situation of the Barzanis between 1945-1947.
