In the same year, Suleiman Ismail was deported with his family to the Cejnikan community near Behirk in Erbil province. In 1990, he returned to Duhok province. He played a prominent role in the uprising and rebellion of the people of Southern Kurdistan in 1991, especially in the uprising of the village of Malta in the province of Duhok. For this, he was again awarded the rank of cadre of the Duhok District Council in Division One (1). He was awarded the Barzani Medal by President Masoud Barzani at the thirteenth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 2010.
