In 1963, at the age of 16, he took the weapon of an Iraqi regime soldier from him in a unique and heroic manner near the village of Feqiyan and contacted the Peshmerga forces of the September Revolution. That same year, he was transferred to the Barzani Base in the Qasr district of the Choman district, where he continued his Peshmerga duties.

In 1976, after the start May RevolutionMustafa Sofi Ali, along with a few friends, founded a party organization in the city of Sawah and began working as a member of the organization. In 1985, at the request of Grand Ayatollah Idris Barzani, he established contact with the Peshmerga forces. May Revolution Participated in several battles in the Xinere and Lolan districts and the liberated areas. In 1988, he participated in the Xwakurke battle against the Iraqi army.

In 1993, after returning from exile in Iran, he became a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Rewandiz district committee. In the same year, after the start of the civil war, he first became the Commander of the Peshmerga Forces of Kurdistan and then, by order of the President, Masoud Barzani becomes commander of the 62nd Brigade of Rewandiz.

On the night of October 4-5, 1997, on Mount Role, near the village of Mawilyan in the Rewandiz district, he was martyred by PKK gunmen in the fight to defend the rule of law.
