Biography

Engineer Muhammad Reza Arif Ali, known as Muhammad Sheikh Reza Sergeloyi, was born in 1944 in Sulaymaniyah. He graduated from the College of Agriculture of Baghdad University in 1970. In 1975, he emigrated to the Shah of Iran after the defeat of the September Revolution. In May 1976, he went to the Republic of Austria and remained there as a refugee. In 1981, he was established as an agricultural specialist at the FAO. He passed away in Vienna on Sunday, March 15, 2020, due to illness. On Monday, October 5, 2020, his body arrived in the Kurdistan Region via Erbil International Airport and was later buried in the village of Sergeloyi in Sulaymaniyah province. He was fluent in Arabic, Kurdish, German and English.

On November 27, 1972, he participated in the Congress of Support for the Palestinian Revolution in Beirut as a representative of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan. From November 27 to 30, 1972, he was the head of the delegation of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan to the National Congress of Support for the Palestinian Revolution in Beirut. In 1973, he became the secretary of the Five-Party League. On Monday, June 11, 1973, he, along with Salih Abdullah Najmedin (Seyda Salih Yusifî), welcomed a delegation of the Arab Joint Front in the Palestinian Revolution at the headquarters of the Five-Party Committee. In 1974, he was unjustly sentenced to death by the Iraqi Ba'ath regime for his participation in the Leyla Qasim cell.

 

In early April 1975, he was assigned by Comrade Masoud Barzani to prepare for the May Revolution. In mid-April 1975, he participated in the extensive meeting of the leaders, commanders and cadres of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Urmia with the aim of continuing the work and resistance. In late April 1975, he was invited by Comrade Masoud Barzani, along with four other individuals, to participate in the first meeting of the Provisional Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party outside the town of Nakhede in Eastern Kurdistan, with the aim of continuing the defense and resistance.

 

At the end of 1975, he was appointed by his friends in the Provisional Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party to work in the European Sixth League. At the end of 1975, he was imprisoned for three months by SAVAK in Evin Prison in Tehran for his political activities and preparations for the May Revolution. He was released from Evin Prison in March 1976 and went to the Republic of Austria in May 1976 and remained there as a refugee. In 1976, he became a member of the Provisional Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (Berlin Conference). In 1976, he became the head of the European Sixth League. On August 7, 1979, he was shot and wounded by Iraqi spies and intelligence agents in Vienna.

 

In 1979, he made contact with the ranks of the Peshmerga forces for the second time. In 1979, he participated in the Shawan meeting of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and was elected as a member of the Political School of the Provisional Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
