Abdulwahid Hamed Law

Abdulwahid Hamed Law was a Peshmerga of the September Revolution and was martyred in the battle of Mount Gorez in 1974.


Martyr Abdulwahid Hamed Law, also known as Abdulwahid Hamed Law, was born in 1946 in the village of Giwani in the Diyana district of Erbil province. He was a farmer and had two sons and four daughters.

 

In 1964, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, rose through the party ranks and eventually became a member of the Rewandiz District Committee. In the same year, he joined the Peshmerga forces of Kurdistan. He became a Peshmerga in the Seyid Asi battalion, which was headed by the Balek force. He soon became a commander and in the same battalion after the agreement of March 11, 1970 between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Presidency of Mullah Mustafa Barzani and the Ba'ath Party, Abdulwahid Hamed Law continues to work on organizing the Rewandiz District Council.

 

In 1974, after the start of the war between the Peshmerga Forces and the Ba'ath Party, Abdulwahid Hamed Law again took up the Peshmerga weapon and defended the land of Kurdistan. On April 17, 1974, in the battle of Mount Gorez near the village of Balekiyan in the Diyana district, he was martyred along with his brother, a cousin, and several of his relatives.

 

Due to the war situation and the presence of enemy tank and artillery bombardment, the remains of the martyrs could not be buried in the village of Giwan. Therefore, they were buried in the village of Sîtkan.
