Biography
Dilshad Shehab was born in 1972. In 1978, he and his family were expelled from their homes by the Ba'ath regime and resettled in the Harir community. In 1983, his grandfather and father were killed in the Anfal campaign by the Ba'ath regime. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Salaheddine University. In 2009, he became a member of the third term of the Kurdistan National Council and in 2012, in the seventh cabinet, he became the Minister of Municipality and Tourism of the Kurdistan Regional Government. He is fluent in Kurdish and Arabic.

Dilshad Shehab joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Students and Boys Union in 1991 and in 1993, at the eighth congress known as the Azadi Congress, he was elected as a member of the Kurdistan Students Union's Reorganization Committee and became the head of the Salaheddine University branch committee. He was the head of the University District Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's second branch committee and was appointed as the Secretary of the Second Branch Committee in 2004.
In 2009, he became a member of the Third Session of the Kurdistan National Council and a member of the Committee for Construction, Settlement and Integration of Villages in the Kurdistan National Council.
In 2010, at the 13th congress, he was elected as a member of the Leadership Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and two years later, in the seventh cabinet, he became the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
