Ja'far Suleiman Ali Cheyy

Ja'far Suleiman Ali Chey was born in 1945 in the village of Cheya in the Amed district of Duhok province. In the same year, he participated in the battles of Geliye Ali Beg and Serê Sipilke. In 1969, he participated in the Battle of Maxubiznan between Ranye and Sengeser under the command of Omar Agha Dolemari. In 1970, he became the Commander of the First Division, one of the Peshmerga who played a good role on the Anti-Aircraft Platform at Hafiz Bridge. He served as the guardian of the Voice of Kurdistan (Radio) and the revolution printing house in the Qesrê and Memi Xelani districts of the Choman district of Erbil province. In 1975, under the command of Arif Yasin who participated in the Battle of Dilman.

 

He served in the Eylul Department in 2004 and later retired. In 2010, he was awarded the Barzani Medal by President Barzani at the 13th Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Erbil.
