Engineer and politician Birousk Nuri Sadiq Ali, known as Birousk Shawes, joined the ranks of the Peshmerga forces of the interim leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1979. He was elected a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the eleventh congress in 1993 and the twelfth in 1999. In 2003, he became Deputy Commander of the Military of Kurdistan (Falek) and in the same year, he became a member of the Coordination Committee with the Coalition Forces in Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2003 and after the liberation of Iraq, he became the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Iraq.
Biography
Birûsk Nuri Sedîq Ali was born in 1955 in Baghdad and is the son of engineer Nuri Shawês (1922 - 1983), a member of the Central Committee and Political School of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and teacher Nahîde Salam Ehmed (1922 - 2006), also known as Nahîde Şêx Salâmî, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
He received his bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Sulaymaniyah and his master's degree in Medical Equipment Engineering from Germany. He went to Iran as a refugee in 1975 after the defeat of the September Revolution and went to Germany in 1976. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, German and English.

Birusk Nuri Shawes joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Qutb Union in 1968, and in 1974, after the tension between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Ba'ath Party over the Kurdistan Autonomy Law, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga forces of the September Revolution and participated in the artillery exercises. A year later, after the defeat of the September Revolution, he went to Iran as a refugee and in 1979, he once again joined the ranks of the Peshmerga forces of the Provisional Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In the same year, at the ninth congress, he left the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
In 1993, after returning to the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - United at the eleventh congress and later became the Head of the Fourth Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the city of Sulaymaniyah. In 1999, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the twelfth congress.
In 2003, he became Deputy Commander of the Kurdistan Military (Felek) and in the same year, he became a member of the Coordination Committee with the Coalition Forces in the Iraqi Freedom Operation. After the fall of the Saddam Hussein regime (1937 - 2006), he was appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Iraq.
