Vala Farid

Vala Farid Ibrahim Sian was born in Erbil in 1976. He received his Master of Laws degree from Salaheddine University in 2003 and his PhD in Public Law from Salaheddine University in 2008.

Vala Farid was a professor at the College of Law and Politics of Salaheddine University. In 2013, he was elected as a member of parliament in the fourth session of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on list 110 of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the 73rd position. He served as the interim president of the Kurdistan Regional Government from February 18, 2019 to July 11, 2019. He remained in office until Rewaz Fayeq replaced him. On July 10, 2019, he was appointed as the Minister of Regional Affairs in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government. On July 6, 2019, he was appointed as the Minister of Regional Affairs in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.will He was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) at the 14th congress in Duhok on October 2, 2022.
