Martyr Sheikh Xerib Sheikh Osman was born in 1942 in the village of Balekiyan in the town of Diyana in the province of Erbil. He grew up in the countryside and was engaged in farming. He was educated and married.
In 1970, he joined the Eylul Revolution and became a Peshmerga under Commander Seyid Asi. He participated in the battles of Gorez, Sertiz, Gerwebeş and the Ali Beg Valley. On April 16, 1974, he was martyred by the Iraqi regime's bullets during an attack on the Iraqi regime's army in the Ali Beg Valley, along with his brother Mustafa Xerîb Şêx, who was also a Peshmerga.
