Martyr Rasul Rustem Mihemed was born in 1932 in the Qaladiz district of the Pişder district of Sulaymaniyah province. He was a resident of Qaladiz and was engaged in trading in the market. His level of education was primary. Rasul Rustem was a housewife and had two wives named Marwat Mihemed and Hemin Rehman and had six sons and eight daughters. Rasul Rustem had a son named Faqa Rasul who was executed and martyred in 1988. In addition, due to the bombing of the Ba'ath regime's warplanes on the Zewa camp and settlement in Iran in 1985, two of his sons named Mariwan Rasul and Şoreş Rasul were martyred and a daughter named Pîrîz Rasul was seriously injured.

He participated in the Battle of Kew Resh in 1974. After a confrontation with the soldiers of the then Iraqi regime, Rasul Rustem was shot and seriously injured. His comrades transferred him to a hospital in Tehran, Iran, for treatment. After two months in the hospital and receiving treatment, Rasul Rustem was martyred due to the severity of his injuries and was buried in the Geni Bewrani cemetery in the city of Sardasht, Iran. At the same time, along with the injury of Martyr Rasul Rustem, a comrade named Haji Barzani was martyred in the Battle of Kew Resh and another comrade named Serdar Pişdari was seriously injured.
