Biography

Peshtīwan Sadiq Abdullah was born in Erbil in 1969. His father was a Peshmerga in the Safin Force during the September Revolution and was martyred in 1968 near the town of Pirmam in Erbil province.

 

He received his master's degree in 2005 and his doctorate in public law in 2012 from the University of Salahaddin - Erbil, and is currently a lecturer at the same university.

 

He became Minister of Education in the eighth cabinet in 2014 and Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government in the ninth cabinet in 2019. Pishtiwan Sadiq Abdullah is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

In the years (2005 - 2008), he was the Head of the Second Division of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Erbil and was elected as a Member of the Leadership Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the Thirteenth Congress in 2010. In 2022, he was elected as a Member of the Central Committee at the Fourteenth Congress and as a Member of the Political School of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the first meeting of the Leadership Committee and became the Head of the Organization School of the Duhok Province.
