Biography

Mahmud Yazidi was born in 1970 in the town of (Baedrê – Şêxan) in Duhok province. He received his bachelor's degree in law from the University of Duhok in 2010. He is fluent in Kurdish and Arabic.

Mahmud Yazidi emigrated to Iran with his family in 1975 after the defeat of the September Revolution and returned to Southern Kurdistan in 1976, where he was rejected and exiled to Southern Iraq by the Ba'ath regime, and returned to Duhok in 1978.

While working within the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he has assumed the following duties and responsibilities: Head of the Batel district committee in 2000, Head of the Xebat district committee in 2002, Head of the Sinjar and Sinun district committee in 2003, Secretary of the Sheikhan district committee in 2006, Head of the Alqush district committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 2007, Deputy Head of the Supervisory and Inspection Committee in 2011, Head of the Sheikhan district committee in 2017.

In 2022, he was elected as a member of the central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the fourteenth congress.
