In 1993, he became a delegate to the 11th congress and in 2010, at the 13th congress, he was elected as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

 

Biography

Ali Teter was born in 1968 in Duhok. He received his bachelor's degree in history from Duhok University in 2000, and his master's degree in Kurdish history from the history department of the same university in 2002. He received his doctorate in contemporary history in 2008 and currently holds the title of professor. He became the governor of Duhok province in 2020. He is fluent in Kurdish, Persian, Arabic and English.

In 1975, after the defeat of the September Revolution, he emigrated to Iran with his family. In 1986, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the same year, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, and in 1988, as a Peshmerga, he participated in the Xwakurk campaign against the Iraqi army forces. In 1991, he participated in the liberation of the city of Duhok.

 

In 1993, he was a delegate to the 11th congress and in 2010, he was elected as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In the 9th congresses in 1998 and 10th in 2001, he was elected as a member of the executive committee of the Kurdistan Qutb Union and became the head of the Duhok-Ninove branch of the inter-parliamentary organization. In the years (2002-2010), he was the Deputy Director of the Duhok branch of the Kurdistan Security Protection Agency and in the years (2003-2006), he participated in the fight against terrorism on the border of Mosul province. In the years (2011-2017), he was the head of the 10th branch and in 2017, he was the head of the 8th branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Zakho.
