Engineer and politician Ehmed Edhem Ebdulcebar Ebdulrehman, known by the names (Ehmed Kanî and Ehmed Doxremeçi), joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1991 after the uprising in Southern Kurdistan. He was a delegate to the eleventh congress in 1993 and the twelfth in 1999, and was elected a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party at the thirteenth congress in 2010.
Biography
Ahmed Kani was born in 1960 in Erbil and is the grandson of poet and translator Abdul Jabar Kani (1897 - 1957). He received his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Mosul in 1985, and in 1990 he became a professor at the Erbil Technical Institute, and in 2004 he became the rector of the Erbil Technical Institute. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Turkmen, and English.

In 1994, he became the head of the Salaheddin University district committee on the border of the second district of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and was appointed as the head of the second district committee in Erbil between (1995-2005). In 2007, he became the head of the twenty-third district committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Maxmur and in 2017, he became the head of the second district committee of Erbil under the leadership council of Erbil province. In 2022, at the Fourteenth Congress, he was elected as a member of the central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
