Biography

Teacher Abdulaziz Tayyib Ahmed Muhammad, known as Abdulaziz Bezzaz, was born in 1954 in the city of Duhok. In 1975, after the defeat of the September Revolution, he returned to the city of Duhok and continued his education. He graduated from the Teachers' Institute in the city of Duhok in 1977. In 1988, after the Anfal Campaign in Badinan, he emigrated to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He was appointed as the Governor of Duhok by the Kurdistan Regional Government in the years (1992 - 2000). On January 19, 1996, he was invited as the Governor of Duhok by the Governor of the State of Tennessee in the United States of America and was received there. On February 4, 1996, he was received in that country at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden. In 1998, he became the editor of the magazine "Asoya Perbediyi" which was published in Kurdish in the city of Erbil. On December 20, 1999, he took the legal oath before the National Council of Kurdistan and became the Minister of Education (Fourth Cabinet). He was a member of the Council of Higher Education and later, when this council became a ministry, he was the acting Minister of Higher Education for a short time. In 1993, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - United (Yazdemin Congress) by the congress delegates.
