Biography
Ali Baba Ismail Haqi Ali Rasul, known by the names (Doctor Ali Baba, Doctor Ali and Aunt Doctor), was born in 1940 in the city of Sulaymaniyah. He is the son of the intellectual and revolutionary Ismail Haqi Shawes (1898 - 1976) and is an active member of the Kurdish Xoybun Party. His father was the founder of several Kurdish political associations in Southern Kurdistan. He received his master's degree in architecture from the Moscow Institute in 1968. In 1969, he started working as an engineer in the Local Administration of Sulaymaniyah. In 1970, he started working in the Municipality of Sulaymaniyah. In 1975, after the defeat of the September Revolution, he became a refugee in Iran and was later sent abroad by order of the Provisional Leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He received his doctorate in architecture from the Moscow Institute in 1977. He lived as a refugee in the Soviet Union from 1977 to 1981 and did not return to Southern Kurdistan. He lived as a refugee in Belgium from 1981 to 1984. In 1985, he returned to Southern Kurdistan at the request of President Masoud Barzani. He lived as a refugee in Iran from 1985 to 1990. He passed away on December 6, 1990 in Eastern Kurdistan and was initially buried in the cemetery of the town of Mariwan in Eastern Kurdistan. After the Southern Kurdistan Uprising, he was reburied in the Girê Seywan cemetery in the city of Sulaymaniyah. He was fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Russian, Persian and French.

He joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Students' Union in 1957. He joined the ranks of the Party (PDK) in 1957. He joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union in 1959. He joined the Kurdistan Teachers' Union in 1959. He became a member of the Youth Organization Committee in 1959. In 1970, he became a member of the Sulaymaniyah Regional Committee of the Fourth Branch Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1974, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga Force. In 1984, he became the secretary of the Sixth European Branch Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He was the editor-in-chief of the Ezmer Magazine, which was published by the Fourth Branch Committee. In 1988, he participated in the Battle of Xwakurk on the border of Erbil province against Iraqi army forces. In 1989, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (Tenth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party) by the congress delegates. In 1989, he became the second in charge of the Fourth Branch Committee.
