Ja'fer Ibrahim Haji Piro, known by the names (Ja'fer Êmînki, Mihami Kovan and Kovan). In 1970, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1981, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan Democratic People's Party (Partiya Gel). In 1999, he was elected by the congress delegates as a member of the central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (twelfth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party). In 2010, he was elected by the congress members as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (thirteenth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party). In 2013, he became a member of the Kurdistan National Council (Kurdistan Parliament) (fourth term), and on April 29, 2014, he was elected Vice President of the Kurdistan National Council (fourth term) by its representatives.
Biography
Ja'far Ibrahim Haji Piro, known by the names Ja'far Eminki, Mihami Kovan and Kovan. He was born in 1954 in the city of Duhok. He received his primary, secondary and high school education in Duhok. In 1977, he received a bachelor's degree in law from Baghdad University. In 1979, he worked as a lawyer in Duhok. In 1981, he was briefly detained by the Mosul Asayish. In 1982, he first went to Sweden as a refugee and lived there until 1986. From 1982 to 1992, he was the President of the Kurdish Rights Movement in Sweden. In 1986, he returned to Syria and lived there for a year and a half, working for the Kurdistan People's Democratic Party. He went to Iran as a refugee in 1987-1988 and returned to Sweden again in 1988-1992. He returned to Kurdistan in 1992. He served as the General Director of the Kurdistan National Council in Erbil from 1992-1995. He received his master's degree in political science from Clement University in Sweden in 2007, and his doctorate in political science from Clement University. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Swedish, English and Persian.

On Monday, March 4, 2019, he was present at the signing of the political agreement between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the city of Erbil. In 2022, he was elected as a member of the central committee at the fourteenth congress and became in charge of the public relations school of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
