Martyr Khalid Hamza Ali was born in 1954 in the village of Wertê, in the Rewandiz district of Erbil province. He grew up in a village and was engaged in farming, was not educated, and his married life was not fulfilling.

In 1978, he joined the Balek District Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga. He participated in the battles in the Balek region. He was martyred in 1989 on Mount Kunekotir due to landmines.
