Martyr Xanawdel Hisên Hemed was born in 1935 in the town of Sidekan, in the province of Erbil. He was a villager and engaged in farming, was educated, and lived a married life.
In 1961, through his brother, Teacher Hamid Effendi, he contacted the organizations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became an active person. He was arrested several times by the security services of the Iraqi regime and sent to Kirkuk and Baghdad. However, after his release, he continued to work in the secret organization of the party. On September 19, 1982, the Ba'ath regime imposed a ban on entering and leaving the town of Sidekan in the Erbil province. That same night, he was shot by Iraqi regime soldiers and martyred there.
