Salar Osman Hussein

Salar Osman Husên, known as Dr Salar, was born in 1969 in the city of Erbil. He completed his primary and secondary education in the city of Erbil, and earned a PhD in Kurdish Literature from the University of Duhok. He is the author of 12 books in the fields of: Literature, Language, Journalism and Politics.


In 2019, he became the Assistant Minister of Culture and Youth in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

 

On November 6, 2022, at the Fourteenth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the city of Duhok, he was elected as a Member of the Central Committee by the members of the congress. He later became Head of the Communication and Intellectual Affairs Department of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
