Martyr Rasul Abdul Mustafa was born in 1940 in the village of Serani, Rawandiz district, Erbil province. He grew up in the countryside and was engaged in farming, was not educated, and did not have a wife.
In 1958, he joined the Peshmerga forces of the September Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the 3rd Battalion of the Balek Force, where the martyr Mullah Emin Barzani became the Commander of the Battalion. He participated in the border battles of Rawandiz, Sertiz and Korek. On May 3, 1965, he was martyred in a fierce battle in Dola Akoyan during the liberation of Rebaye (Gird Meşk) by the Iraqi regime army.
