Martyr Majid Fatah Mahmud was born in 1942 in the village of Dêlziyan, near the town of Diyana in Erbil province. He grew up in a village and was engaged in farming.
In 1962, he became involved in the September Revolution and joined the Balek force, which was then led by Mamosta Hamid Effendi, and became a Peshmerga and participated in the battles in that area. In 1962, he was martyred in the town of Sidekan by prisoners hired by the Iraqi regime, and his body was buried there.
