Martyr Zorab Xazi, Grandfather Xazi, was born in 1951 in the village of Erguş, in the Margesor district of Erbil province. He was a villager and engaged in farming, was uneducated, and was a housewife.

 

In 1968, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga in the Xebat force. He participated in the battles of Sertiz and Gorez. In 1974, he emigrated to Iran and participated in the battles against the Kurdistan Democratic Party from 1981 to 1984. On September 4, 1988, he was martyred in the Battle of Xwakurk in the Sîdekan district of Erbil province, due to Iraqi army shelling.
