Latif Saeed Kurtas

Latif Said Qurtas was a Peshmerga of the September Revolution and was martyred in 1966 at the Omar Axa Camp.


Martyr Latif Said Qurtas was born in 1915 in the village of Bolê, located in the town of Sidekan, Erbil province. He lived and worked as a farmer and became a housewife.

 

In 1961, he joined the September Revolution and joined the Haji Beroxhi Battalion, which was then under the command of Balek, known as the Peshmerga, and participated in the battles of Hinduran, Zozik, and Gorez. In 1966, he was martyred with a group of his friends in Geru, Omer Axa, due to the shelling of the Iraqi regime.
