Martyr Hesen Majid Hesen was born in 1941 in the village of Balekiyan in the town of Diyana in the province of Erbil. He grew up in the countryside and was engaged in farming. He studied until the primary level and was not married.
On January 12, 1961, he joined the Eylul Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the Hamid Effendi Battalion. In 1962, he participated in the war against the Iraqi regime's mercenaries and was captured with a comrade in that war, but managed to free himself. On August 1, 1963, he was martyred by Iraqi regime bullets during an attack on the Iraqi regime's army on Mount Gorez.
