Martyr Derwêş Hesen Şiwan Mustafa was born in 1927 in the village of Bolê, near the town of Sidekan in the province of Erbil. He was a villager and was engaged in farming, was not educated, and was a housewife.
In 1961, he joined the September Revolution and became a Sergeant in the Haji Beroxhi Battalion under the Balek force. He participated in the battles of Hinduran, Zozik and Gorez, and in 1966, he was martyred with his brother Hamid Siwan Mustafa, who was also a Peshmerga, and a group of his friends in the Omar Axa Village in the Diyana district of Erbil province, due to shelling by the Iraqi regime army.
