Martyr Cewher Xidir Qadir was born in 1973 in the village of Mawilyan in the Rawandiza district of Erbil province. He studied until the sixth grade. He did not have a married life, but after the uprising in Southern Kurdistan in 1991, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, then became a Peshmerga in the First Brigade of the Sixth Army in Soran. He participated in most of the legal defense battles in the Soran area, and was martyred by PKK militants on October 10, 1997, in the battle of Mount Direbi.
