Salim Ahmed Salim Rasho was born in 1914 in the village of Chiyi, which belongs to the Nerwa Warikan sub-district in the Amadiya district of Duhok Governorate. He participated in the second Barzan Revolution in 1945. In 1961, he joined the Peshmerga forces of the revolution after it broke out and participated in the battles of Wadi Zawita and Bahdinan in 1961-1962, to expel the Iraqi army and the mercenary militias from the region. His brother, Sinar Ahmed, was martyred in 1961.
In 1962, he crossed over with the mullah Mustafa Barzani To the Soran and Balak regions, he participated in the Battle of the Sufis affiliated with Sheikh Rashid Loulan and the Battle of Safin, and in 1965 he participated in the battles of Qaradagh, Perimegron, Seripilek, Kyorish, Dere in the Amidi region, Ali Ali Bey in Diana district and Doski district.
In 1975, after the setback September RevolutionHe sought refuge in Iran and settled in Naghdeh, eastern Kurdistan. From there, he and his family were sent to Sabzevar in Khorasan province, and then to the city of Sharoud in Semnan province.
In 1977 he participated in Gulan Revolution In the same year, his son, Haji Salim, was martyred. In 1982, on the recommendation of Idris Barzani, he returned to Keli Rash, Mount Bradost, in the Khwakurk region, with two sons, a brother, and several other Peshmerga fighters, and led attacks against the enemy in mobile detachments. In 1991, he returned to southern Kurdistan and participated in the Kurdish uprising against the Iraqi government.
On August 16, 1996, on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he received the Immortal Barzani Medal, which was bestowed upon him by the President. Masoud Barzani In recognition of his services to the Kurds, Kurdistan, and the Barzani approach, he passed away on November 21, 2005, after suffering from an illness.
