Biography

Dr. Jarjis Hassan Abdullah, also known as Dr. Jarjis, was born in 1944 in Khans village of Sheikhan district in Mosul province. He attended primary, secondary and high school there. In 1967 he was admitted to the College of Arts of Mosul University He left the Soviet Union and left the Secretariat of the Kurdistan Students Union. He went to Austria and returned to East Kurdistan in 1979. He was the Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government in 1996-1999. He died in 2024 due to illness. He was fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Russian, German and Persian.
