Biography

Dr. Jarjis Hassan Abdullah, also known as Dr. Jarjis, was born in 1944 in Khans village of Sheikhan district in Mosul province. He attended primary, secondary and high school there. In 1967 he was admitted to the College of Arts of Mosul University He left the Soviet Union and left the Secretariat of the Kurdistan Students Union. He went to Austria and returned to East Kurdistan in 1979. He was the Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government in 1996-1999. He died in 2024 due to illness. He was fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Russian, German and Persian.

Khabatname

He joined the Kurdistan Students Union in 1967. On July 15, 1970, he was elected as the vice president of the Kurdistan Students Union (Sixth Congress). In 1971, he was a member of the regional committee In 1979, he was elected as a member of the central committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) (9th congress). In 1980-1985, he was in charge of the first branch of the KDP In 1980, he joined the Iraqi Communist Party forces and commanded the Begofa battle in Duhok province. On July 16, 1985, he was appointed as a member of the organization department and a member of the communications department He was elected as a member of the Political Bureau by the members of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). In late 1985, he taught the history of the Kurdish liberation movement in the 20th century in the eighth course of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Cadre Institute in Razhan village in East Kurdistan.

In 1986, he was a member of the central inspection committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). In 1988, he participated as a leader in the Dastan of Khawkurk in Erbil province against the Iraqi army In 1989, he was elected as a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) at the first meeting of the Central Committee. On December 13, 1990, he was appointed head of the Finance Committee In early 1992, he was appointed as the supervisory committee of the second branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). In 1994, he was the owner of the magazine Kadir (second round). On May 4, 1994, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Kurdistan National Union (KNU) signed a ceasefire agreement at a joint meeting in South Kurdistan. On Wednesday, November 9, 1994, at the secretariat headquarters Lawyer Jalal Hisamuddin Nureddin (1933-2017), also known as Jalal Talabani, attended a joint meeting of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Kurdistan National Union (KNU) in Erbil in order to resolve tensions between the two parties.
