Khalid Rashid Ahmad, also known as Khalid Kochar, was born in 1957 in Garfil village of Semel district of Duhok province. He was married and studied until primary school.
In 1972 he joined the Peshmerga forces The September Revolution He became a Peshmerga in the 1st Battalion of Duhok in The September Revolution He remained in Semel district and was not a refugee abroad. In 1976, he joined the Peshmerga forces The May Revolution In 1979, he went to Berman village on the border between South and North Kurdistan and met Jawhar Namiq Karim Sinjar (Sinjari) has fallen. He was with Abu Antar for a year and then with Martyr Zorab he traveled to Duhok, Zakho and Amedi and participated in the battles of Korka and Baze. In 1979, he went to Shino in East Kurdistan to participate in the 40th anniversary of the death of the late Barzani (1903-1979). In the same year, he returned to Duhok to participate in the 9th Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
In 1980, he joined the Sabri Ali Haider detachment and was appointed head of the same detachment. He was appointed deputy head of the Martyr Ahmad Haji Hussein Organization.
In 1988, after the infamous Anfal campaign and chemical attack on Badinan region by the Ba'ath regime, Khalid Kochar He went to North Kurdistan with the people of the region and the Peshmergas and was later transferred to a refugee camp in Mardin by the Turkish government. In 1991, after the Kurdistan Uprising, he returned to Zakho and was appointed as the military commander of the Kurdistan Front in Duhok. He was appointed as the commander of the Semel Joint Army.
In 1995, Khalid Kochar was appointed commander of the 9th Battalion of Semel. In 1996, he was appointed commander of the 15th Brigade. In 1998, he was appointed commander of the Spilk Force.
On October 13, 1999, he was awarded the Barzani Medal by President Massoud Barzani at the 12th Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
