Rustam Abdulmajid Ahmed was born in the village of Balusu, which belongs to the Bamo district in Halabja Governorate in 1941. He was a resident of the Zarain district and one of the municipality employees. He took refuge in Iran after the setback of the September Revolution and lived in the city of Kamiran. He returned to his village in 1979. He married Bahya Saleh and they had four sons and six daughters (Ahmed, Mahmoud, Ata, Muhammad, Begard, Bekhal, Bahra, Banaz, Niaz, and Perivan).
In 1968, he joined the ranks of the Fourth Secret Peshmerga of the Sixth Regiment in the Khabat Forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, where Qadir Hama Saleh was the commander of the company. He participated in several battles during the September Revolution, including: the Battle of Darbandikhan, the Battle of Sartiz, the Battle of Haji Omran, the Battle of Khanaqin, and the Battle of Halabja.
In 1991, he rejoined the ranks of the Peshmerga of the Sirwan Forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, where Jalal Lawrani was the commander of the forces. He participated in the liberation of Halabja, Arabat, Darbandikhan, Kalar, Kirkuk, Kuljo, and Khanaqin.
Rustam Abdulmajid Ahmed and a number of his companions were martyred in 1991 in the village of Bawa, which belongs to the Khanaqin district, after they fell into an ambush by the Mujahedin-e Khalq forces.
