Haider Mohammed AminHe was born in Erbil in 1927. In 1946, he took the final preparatory exam in prison. In 1953, he obtained a bachelor's degree in the English department from the College of Education at the University of Baghdad. In 1953, he did not get the opportunity to be appointed because of his Kurdish struggle, and he worked in one of the private companies in Baghdad in order to earn a living. In 1957, he was appointed as a teacher in the Hilla Secondary School. In 1958, after the fall of the monarchy in Iraq, he was transferred to the Erbil Education Directorate and worked there as a teacher. In 1958, he practiced teaching English at the Primary Teachers' Training College in Erbil.
On January 16, 1960, he died of a heart attack in Erbil. On January 22, 1960, the newspaper Khabat, the mouthpiece of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, published news of his death. Both the Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Teachers' Union sent telegrams of condolence to his family. He was fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.
The pages of struggle
He participated in the demonstrations in front of the Erbil Governorate building in 1942, demanding the release of lawyer Awni Yousef (1908-1988) and Dr. Jaafar Muhammad Karim(1910-2000), known as Dr. Jaafar al-Fayli, and Hassan Taha Abdul Aziz (1915-1999), known as Hassan Katani, were imprisoned by the governor of Erbil for their Kurdish struggle. He joined the Kurdistan Democratic Party in 1946 and was imprisoned in 1948. He took his final secondary school exams while incarcerated and passed. In 1948, he was accepted into the English Department at the College of Education, University of Baghdad. Also in 1948, he was a delegate to the leadership of the General Union of Students in Iraq (the Black Conference) and later became a member of the Union's leadership. In 1949, he was imprisoned for his political activities. In 1953, he was among the founding members of the Kurdistan Students Union and a member of the preparatory committee for its first conference. He was elected to the administrative body at the first conference of the Kurdistan Students Union in 1953 and, shortly after, was appointed its secretary. He was a member of the Kurdistan Students Union, and in 1953 he was among the founding members and a leading member of the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union. In 1959 he became the head of the Erbil local committee of the second branch of the unified Kurdistan Democratic Party.
He served as a member of the preparatory committee for the Fourth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Iraq in 1959. In 1959, he was a delegate to the Fourth Congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Iraq in Baghdad. On December 10, 1959, he delivered a speech on behalf of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in front of the Khabat newspaper building in Erbil, on the occasion of the recovery of Brigadier General Abdul Karim Qasim (1914-1963) and his discharge from the hospital after surviving an assassination attempt by the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party. From August 15-17, 1960, he represented Erbil Governorate at the Second Congress of the Kurdish Teachers' Union (the Second Congress in Shaqlawa). In 1960, he was elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party by the delegates of the Fifth Congress of the Party. Also in 1960, he served as the secretary of the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Teachers' Union.
