Biography
Bland Ismail Jarjis, also known as Bland Sheikh Wasani, was born in 1965 in Sheikh Wasanan village in Shaqlawa district of Erbil province. He attended primary school in Sheikh Wasanan village, then secondary school in Balisan He graduated from Erbil. In 2006, he received a bachelor's degree in law from Salahaddin University, Erbil. He was displaced to Iran in 1988 after the Anfal process. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic and Persian.
The struggle
In 1982, he joined the secret organizations Kurdistan Democratic Party In 1984, he became the head of the committee of the secret organizations in Harir district. In 1986, he became the head of the organization committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Students and Youth Union. He has carried out various activities in Harir district, such as posting PKK posters and distributing publications.
In 1987, he joined the Peshmerga forces of the May Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the Shaqlawa Regional Committee. He participated in several battles against the Ba'ath regime. In 1988, after the Anfal campaign against Kurdish civilians by the Ba'ath regime, he stayed inside Kurdistan for eight months and participated in several guerrilla activities, including the battle of Dari Zewa, a guerrilla activity in Harir town, hitting a military vehicle in Khate village Military in the Balisan Valley.
In the summer of 1989-1990, he was a cadre of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and returned to Kurdistan several times. In 1989, he became the administrator of the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Students and Youth Union. In 1990, he became a cadre of the Shaqlawa Regional Committee.
In 1991, he participated in the Kurdistan People's Uprising and was the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) representative in Shaqlawa. In 1992, he became a member of the Erbil Plain Regional Committee. In 1993, he became the administrator of the Erbil Plain Regional Committee. In 1994, he became the deputy head of the same regional committee. In 1995, he became the head of the Shaqlawa Regional Committee and participated in the fighting to defend the rule of law in Shaqlawa, Shakrok, Hiran, Safin Mountain, Mama Jalka and fighting against PKK fighters in Merozi village of Mazuri region.
In 1996, he became the administrator of Branch 2. In 2004, he became the head of the organizing department of the same branch committee. He was a member of the 11th Congress in 1993, the 12th Congress in 1999, the 13th Congress in 2010 and the 14th Congress in He was elected as a reserve member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leadership council at the 13th congress. In 2022, he will become a permanent member of the leadership due to a vacancy in the leadership council.
In 2014 he became the deputy head of the 16th branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), in 2006 he became the head of the 24th branch of Safin in Shaqlawa, in 2017 he became the head of the 16th branch.
He has published several booklets of poetry and political articles. In 1989 he published a booklet of poetry entitled Tragedy of Sheikh Wasani. In 1990 he published a booklet of poetry entitled “I saw Kandil bow down”. He has published several short stories before the uprising. He has published several poems in Safin, Rzgari, Halwesti Adabi, Kermanj and Sarwa. After the uprising, he published political poems in the magazine Peshkewtan, the newspaper Biryati and Khabat. He was the editor-in-chief of the magazines Hawre and Koya.
