The martyr Omar Aziz Othman Wahab was a Peshmerga of the Gulan Revolution. His rank reached that of a platoon commander during his struggle in the ranks of the Peshmerga. He was martyred along with three of his Peshmerga comrades in an ambush set up for them by the Jalaliyyin inside Iranian territory in 1979, and their bodies were mutilated after their martyrdom.
The martyr Omar Aziz Othman Wahab was born in Tawila, which belongs to the Biara district in the Hawraman region in 1951. He worked in gardening and in hand weaving. He completed the intermediate stage.
In 1977, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga of the Hawraman Forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He obtained the position of platoon commander in 1978 and was transferred to the Nasr al-Din Hawrami Regiment of the Hawraman Forces.
After returning from a combat operation in 1979 near Darband Dezli inside Iranian territory, he and three of his Peshmerga comrades were ambushed by the Patriotic Union group. They were all martyred in this ambush. After their martyrdom, the Unionists cut up their bodies and threw them into the waters of the Dezli River. After searching for them for days by their comrades, their mutilated bodies were found and buried in Dezli.
