The martyr Azim Abdulkarim Muhammad, known as (Azimi Darwish), was a Peshmerga of Golan and the popular uprising of the people of Kurdistan. He was wounded once during his struggle in the ranks of the Peshmerga. He was martyred in 1991 after falling into an ambush set up by the Mujahedin-e Khalq forces near Khanaqin district. He is one of the martyrs whose graves are unknown.
The martyr Azim Abdulkarim Muhammad, known as (Azimi Darwish), was born in the village of Zarin in the Tagouzi area of Halabja Governorate in 1949. He was a villager who worked in agriculture. He was married to Katan Muhammad Ali and they had a son (Kosar).
He joined the Peshmerga forces in 1979 in the Tagozeen Regiment, led by Qadir Hama Saleh Tagozei. He participated in many battles, including: the Battle of Zozak, the Battle of Khwakurk, the Battle of Halabja, the Battle of Zamnako, the Battle of Qardagh, and combat operations in the Sharazur Plain. He was seriously wounded in 1981 after being shot in his right leg while performing combat operations in the Sharazur Plain.
In 1991, the martyr Azim Abdulkarim participated in the popular uprising of the people of Kurdistan and in the liberation of the cities of Halabja, Sayid Sadiq, Arabat, Zarain, Darbandikhan, Sulaymaniyah, Kirkuk, Kalar, and Bawnur.
In 1991, he and a number of his Peshmerga comrades were ambushed by the People's Mujahedin forces near the village of Sheikh Bawe in the Khanaqin district. They were all martyred in this incident. It is noted that he is among the martyrs whose graves are unknown.
