Sabah Muhammad Arif, known as Sabah Sheikh Mahmawi Miri Sur, was born in 1967 in the village of Miri Sur, which belongs to the Khurmal district. He was a villager and worked in agriculture. He completed primary school and sought refuge in Iran after the setback. September Revolution He lived in the city of Marivan.
In 1980, he joined the Peshmerga ranks in his brother Ghazi Sheikh Mahmawi Miri Sur’s detachment, which belonged to the Martyr Abu Bakr Bani Banuki Regiment within the Surin Forces of the Darbandikhan Local Committee in the Fourth Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He participated in the Battle of Kaniskan and in the guerrilla warfare activities in the Sharazur Plain.
Sabah Muhammad was martyred along with two of his companions (his brother Ghazi Sheikh Muhammad and Jamal Bani Banouki) on November 8, 1981, after they were ambushed by a National Union force in the village of Qayr Marf in the Sharazur plain.
