Jamal Ali Rashid, known as Jamal Mulla Ali, was born on April 10, 1950, in the village of Wala Samt, on the slopes of Safin, in the district of Sayyid Sadiq. He was a villager who worked in agriculture. He completed his primary education and sought refuge in Iran after the setback. September Revolution He settled in the city of Marivan.
In 1964, he became a cadre in the Surin organization, which was affiliated with the Darbandikhan local committee within the fourth branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. Ali Shawis was then in charge of the organization. On April 1, 1976, he joined the ranks of the Peshmerga within the Surin forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, where Mulla Omar Bani Banuk was then the commander of the forces.
He participated in the battles of Shermer in 1979, the battle of Reshin in 1980, the battle of Beslamin in 1980, the battle of Qal'adza in 1981, and guerrilla warfare activities in the Sharazur Plain, most notably the burning of the Sayed Sadiq police station with an RPG in 1979.
Jamal Mulla Ali was wounded twice during his struggle in the ranks of the Peshmerga. In 1979, he was injured in clashes with Ba'athist regime soldiers in the Battle of Shermer, where his face was hit by shrapnel from long-range artillery. In 1981, he was shot in his right arm during a confrontation with Ba'athist regime soldiers. Thus, he was wounded twice during his struggle in the ranks of the Peshmerga.
He assumed the position of detachment commander in 1976, and the position of commander of the Fifth Regiment within the Surin forces at the beginning of 1981. In June 1981, he assumed the position of commander of the Surin forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
On August 20, 1981, a detachment comprising Jamal Mulla Ali and a number of Peshmerga set out from the Siamiwah headquarters at the foot of Surin towards the Sharazur Plain on a mission to conduct surveys and carry out guerrilla warfare activities in the aforementioned plain. However, on August 23, 1981, at the village of Nawgardan in the Sharazur Plain, they were ambushed by a force from the Patriotic Union. After confrontations and clashes between the two sides, Jamal Mulla Ali and a number of his comrades were martyred, namely: Jabbar Muhammad Sharif, Ahmad Banishari, Jabbar Haj Sharif, and Saleh Khala.
