The Eighth Conference, the Azadi (Freedom) Conference of the Kurdistan Students Union - Erbil - 1993

4- Omar Sharif and Salam Hussein Abdullah - Kirkuk Branch

5- Sasan Awni and Mustafa Salim Hamd Amin - Salahaddin University Committee

6- Gohdar Ismail - Secretariat Office Headquarters

The secretariat office after the uprising looked like this:

1- Abdullah Khalouali - Secretary

2- Rifaat Saeed Mohammed Amin - Member of the Secretariat Office

3- Feryad Shafie Mohammed, known as Feryad Barzani - Member of the Secretariat Office

The branch officials were as follows:

1- Reber Ahmed Khaled - Erbil Branch Manager

2- Haji Abdulrahman - Head of the Sulaymaniyah branch

3- Azad Faiq Ghafoor, also known as Dzwar Faiq – Head of Kirkuk Branch

4- Ibrahim Ismail - Head of the Refugee Branch

5- Ibrahim Mustafa Mohammed – Head of the Duhok-Nineveh Branch

Following these changes and based on the above decisions, the Azadi (Freedom) Conference was held from October 16-20, 1993 in Erbil, with 793 delegates in attendance, under the slogan (Science - Peace - Reconstruction), in the presence of the President. Masoud BarzaniPresident Barzani, a representative of the Political Bureau, the Minister of Education, and the President of Salahaddin University all delivered speeches at the conference.

The conference delegates were distributed among the students and youth to elect the two organizations, and as for the Kurdistan Students Union, the following names were elected to the executive committee:

2- Henkaw Abdullah Khan - Head of Public Relations

3- Nazim Rashid - Public Relations Department

4- Kohdar Ismail - Head of Media Department

5- Reber Ahmed Khaled - Erbil Branch Manager

6- Amin Othman - Head of the Sulaymaniyah branch

7- Ali Awni Nemat - Media Department.

8- Tavke Omar Rashid – Media Department

9- Mustafa Salim - Head of Organization Department

10- Shaker Abu Bakr Aziz - Organization Department

11- Fares Omar - Head of the Duhok-Nineveh Branch

12- Shino Amin Mansour - Head of Kirkuk Branch

13- Suleiman Harni's team - Head of the Finance Department

14- Dilshad Shahab - Head of the Salahaddin University Committee

15- Tariq Jaafar Faily - Organization Department

 

Reserve members of the Executive Committee:

1- Abdullah Majeed

2- Arshad Haito, known as Arshad Baltah

3- Bashar Hamid

The student union branches consisted of: Erbil, Kirkuk, Sulaimaniyah, and Duhok-Nineveh. On August 18, 1993, a decision was made to open a branch at Salahaddin University. On February 1, 1996, the Akre branch was opened. Also on February 1, 1996, it was decided to open a branch in Soran.

Conference Management:

On October 23, 1993, in the presence of all members of the Executive Committee, the members of the Secretariat Office were elected in this manner in Erbil, and the Secretary was elected from among the members of the Secretariat Office:

Following the Azadi Conference, the first branch officials were as follows:

 

1- Faris Omar, also known as Faris Barwari, is the head of the Duhok branch in Nineveh.

2- Reber Ahmed Khaled - Erbil Branch Manager

3- Shno Amin Mansour – head of the Kirkuk branch, is considered one of the first women to assume responsibility for branches in the history of the Kurdistan Students Union.

4- Amin Othman – Head of the Sulaymaniyah branch

5- Shaaban Shaaban Ahmed - Head of the Akre branch

6- Faisal Sadiq Tawfiq – Head of the Soran Branch
